Just In: Coffee from Nagaland

Just In: Coffee from Nagaland

By Sumana Palle

Recently, we had the incredible opportunity to visit Nagaland and witness firsthand the inspiring work of the Kenono Foundation in their forest conservation and agroforestry initiatives. Nestled in the lush forests of this northeastern state of India, the foundation collaborates with indigenous tribal women farmers to promote sustainable agriculture and protect the rich biodiversity of the region. During our visit, we were captivated by the dedication and resilience of these women as they meticulously cultivated coffee in harmony with the environment, blending traditional knowledge with sustainable practices. The Kenono Foundation’s efforts are not only preserving the natural landscape but also providing vital economic opportunities for the local community.

To support these impactful initiatives, RootCraft by Saltwater Stories is proud to offer coffee grown by these amazing women farmers. By purchasing this unique, ethically sourced coffee, you are directly contributing to forest conservation and the empowerment of indigenous communities. The rich, aromatic coffee is a testament to the hard work and commitment of the farmers, and every cup tells a story of resilience and sustainability. We are honored to partner with the Kenono Foundation and bring their exceptional coffee to our customers, reinforcing our mission to foster social impact and celebrate cultural heritage through ethical business practices. Join us in supporting these initiatives and savor the difference that sustainable, community-driven agriculture can make.
